My name is Isaac Blencowe and I am a trained Tai Chi instructor through the Tai Chi for Health Institute.
I have a bachelors degree in Exercise Science and have a strong passion for all things health, nutrition and fitness.
My aim with running classes is to show people both young and old that this type of stuff (Tai Chi, Qigong and mindfulness) isn’t as weird and strange as people think it is. And can actually be pretty fun and interesting to learn, the bonus being that they are extremely beneficial to your health and well being.
Remember that “Tai Chi”, “Qigong” and “Mindfulness”, are just words. What is truly important is the effect they have on us. A lot of the time we choose not to try or do things because they sound too weird for us or we worry what other people might think of us for doing them. Even when we know that they might be very good for us.
We are all guilty of this, it’s only normal. With this in mind I aim to run classes that are fun, practical and approachable to anyone and everyone. I am not here to turn anyone into a Tai Chi or Qigong master (Im not one myself). And you can be rest assured that I won’t be talking to you about harnessing your “chi” energy (although you just might..) That’s not what I am about.
I also can’t claim to have 20 years experience in Tai Chi or Qigong under my belt like some people do. But what can assure you is that you will have fun, a few laughs and most importantly a chance to slow down, to relax and be present.
We live in a pretty hectic world these days, so I think it has become more important than ever that we find time to slow down every once and a while.
